CrossFit Language, Part 2

CrossFit as a second language continued.  Part 1 is here.  More terms and phrases:

Rx’d – As prescribed.  Doing the WOD at the prescribed weight, repetitions, and rounds.  No scaling

PR – Personal record

Firebreather – 1.  One who faces the triumphs and tribulations of great physical opposition with an indomitable spirit.  2.  An optimistic energy associated with the heart of an athlete.

HQ – CrossFit Headquaters or CrossFit.com

PNF – Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. Contract and relax stretching

RM – Rep max, as in 1 rep max, the maximum weight you can lift for a single rep

Pistol – single leg squat

Touch ‘n’ Go – the weight touches the ground, and then you immediately perform the next rep.  No resetting of the grip or position.

Globo Gym – The big commercial gyms littered with machines, televisions, and people only appearing to work out.

5 single arm overhead squats, left (35#/26#)

5 single arm overhead squats, right

10 box jumps (24″/20″)

10 sit-ups

Elements WOD

15 minute AMRAP

5 push-ups

10 front squats

15 sit-ups

Post rounds to comments

Reverse wall ball shots

Lock it out, then squat it down

Jumps come next
